Headed by Jake Lang, More than 100 January 6 protestors have filed a $50 billion class action lawsuit against the Department of Justice, alleging wrongful incarceration and harm under what they describe as a “weaponized justice system.”
Reports about Jake Lang describe his detention as harsh, including periods in solitary confinement and claims of inhumane treatment.
These charges include civil disorder, assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers, obstruction of an official proceeding, among others. He has been held without trial for an extended period, with his trial date facing multiple delays, the latest being set for September 9, 2024, which was then postponed again.

Jake Lang, a defendant associated with the January 6th Capitol riot, has been involved in multiple legal actions with the Department of Justice (DOJ). Jake Lang was arrested and charged with numerous offenses related to his alleged involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
The lawsuit, led by Jake Lang and supported by Federal Watchdog, seeks restitution for lost businesses, homes, careers, and emotional damage caused by prolonged imprisonment. Set to be filed in January 2025, the case aims to highlight their “experiences and advocate for justice.”
January 6 Conviction
More than 1,027 individuals have pleaded guilty to charges related to the Capitol riot. Hundreds have been sentenced, with approximately two-thirds receiving terms of imprisonment ranging from a few days to 22 years.
The longest sentence so far was given to Enrique Tarrio, the former leader of the Proud Boys, who was sentenced to 22 years for seditious conspiracy and other crimes related to the attack.
