Shopify continues to expand globally and we want to take our impact to the next level. For this to happen, we’re looking for an Accountant to support financial and accounting matters for our team in India and APAC and coordinate with the finance team in Ottawa, Canada. This person will be supporting a startup-style team within the global company and will have the chance to participate in the foundational structure while being supported from our Headquarters. This accounting group remains a small sized group. This allows members of the team to make significant impacts and interact with many groups across the company.

Areas you could work on:
Finance/accounting support for our international subsidiary offices in India and APAC, including but not limited to:
Month end close support
Accounts receivable invoicing and merchant support
Account and Bank reconciliations
Revenue reporting
Accounts payable support
Tax declarations: Sales/Withholding tax, Payroll taxes and Corporate taxes
Collaborating with outside parties such as banks, government agencies, outsourced payroll providers and auditors
Adhoc finance and accounting projects, it’s all fun, but this is the real fun stuff!
