AVP / VP - Taxation
We have been retained by our client, a reputed Multinational Bank to identify an “AVP / VP - Taxation” to be based at Mumbai.
Interested candidates should be Chartered Accountants with 6 – 8 years experience working in the BFSI sector.
The role:
• To effectively manage the Taxation Function of the Bank with a view to ETR reduction, minimizing tax risks and consequent P&L impact.
• To ensure that the various Tax requirements are complied with on a timely basis - advance tax, corporate income tax & wealth tax Returns, tax audit report, review and filing of appeals etc.
• To handle Local tax accounting for the bank & couple of its subsidiaries.
• To identify and implement areas of tax reduction and savings; identification and mitigation of tax risks, ensuring minimal P&L impact arising out of tax risks, etc.
• To manage of local tax compliance and relationship with local Revenue Authorities for the bank & couple of its subsidiaries.
• To attend the assessment proceedings before the tax authorities and provide requisite information/clarifications on the Bank's case.
• To also appear before the Commissioner (Appeals) to defend the Bank’s position
• To provide advisory support & guidance to Business, other functions on tax matters.
• To ensure audit readiness for assessment, appeals, etc. Process efficiencies and improvements
• To brief Tax Counsel as and when necessary. Advising internal stakeholders on new developments, tax implications of decisions on accounting/new products/projects.
• To ensure awareness and compliance of all internal policies and procedures, including Values of the Group, etc.
