The IT department in the internal circular cited that Project IEC 3.0 will have a far reaching impact on the working of the department as well as for the taxpayers and common public in the years to come.

Transition from IEC 2.0 to IEC 3.0

Upgrading Taxpayer Experience

Project IEC 3.0 aims to create a faster, more efficient, and user-friendly system that will going to overcomes the shortcomings of IEC 2.0, such as server downtime, download failures for ITR forms, and challan payment issues.

Stakeholder Consultation for IEC 3.0

The IT Department has instructed wide consultations with stakeholders, including taxpayers, tax professionals, and department officers, to gather valuable input on IEC 3.0.

A committee led by an officer of at least CIT rank will gather feedback on IEC 3.0 improvements, with findings due by November 30, 2024.
