hi guys
i have quoted wrong TAN on the TDS challan while depositing TDS electronically...it has been credited to some other company now...wht do i od rectify it...have spoken to the concernd ITO in this regard but the same old story there...he is imposing a under table penalty on us...wht do i do now
I think you should write a letter to the IT dept. attaching a copy of the Tds challan explaining that you quoted wrong TAN on the challan and if possible obtain Noc from the company whose TAN u have wrongly quoted and also attach the same with the letter.
Write a letter stating the nature of error committed to the concerned ITO (TDS) and also to NSDL. You can mail to NSDL at e-tax @ nsdl.co.in .
i agree with sweeta's reply... u should follow d said procedure... i too had faced d same problem n got solution by an intimation to dept...
