What is the remedy for wrong quoting of PAN number while making advance tax payment. Banker already processed with wrong PAN number. The advance tax amount is very high

Write a letter regarding it to AO of your ward with advance tax challan zerox copy and zerox copy of PAN

Assessing officer may noy be able to help u especially if the PAN u quoted is also a valid one. The bank may be able to help u at least at the Zonal Accounting Level. Take it up with the bank

Of course AO will help you… it does not matter whether its valid or invalid you can enclosed proof of your bank statement where this transaction will.

The question is : if the PAN quoted is valid, how will the AO ensure that the tax was paid by u. Bank statements can be produced only for cheque/online payments. What abt cash payments?? In any case it is better to get the same corrected at challan originator bank level, since the probelm can crop up after a couple of years too

If bank will do late in remit to government that I think all assess will get demand notice as you are saying bro at zonal accounting level… bank don’t keep late remit to government account…
Bank remit all tax collections of a day in next working day to government…
