i want to know what to do if pan given by vendor is wrong and his intentions are to get exemption from getting tds deducted from his payment ?
in case of payment to transporter how will we check at the moment that whether the pan given by him is wrong or right ?

Penalty of Rs. 10000/- shall be levied as per provision of Section 272B in contravention of section 139A.

just log on to www.incometaxindia.gov.in & go to pan status enquiry where u can check the originality of particular pan no. but one think u need date of incorporation of company.
