Hi friends,
My cousin has paid self assessment tax in April 2011. He has to pay that tax for A/Y 2011-2012 but he wrongly wrote A/Y 2010-11 in the challan. Now, is there any option other than Revised return to claim such refund??

Request the ITO of your ward with challan copy to rectify the mistakes.

simply request the officer stating that challan is paid in error and you want to rectify the same "mention the rectificatin sought"
