Wrong a.y. in self assessment challan

assessee filed the itr for the a.y. 2015-16 and pays tax but bank wrongly entered the a.y. 16-17. now itd raised the demand for tax by intimation under 143(1). how can we correct it. should assessee go to the bank or a.o?
