Stuart Riddell: With you all the way to the top

HAVING passed some of the toughest professional exams to qualify as a chartered accountant (CA), you can be confident that you will receive high-quality support from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) throughout your career and retirement.
My members' services team is dedicated to helping CAs in any way it can, ensuring that you get the most out of your "community". I believe that one of the most important roles we can perform is connecting members from different sectors, from differ
ent backgrounds and of different ages. With 17,000 CAs in more than 100 countries, this is a rewarding, if not straightforward, task.
Sharing experience and expertise is one of the biggest benefits of being a CA. That's why, for example, in the last year we staged "masterclass" dinners for newly-qualified CAs and final-stage students. These events brought members from the very top of their sectors together with CAs at the beginning of their careers, to pass on tips and provide a valuable networking opportunity.
