Dear friends,
Will self study be sufficient for clearing CA. Final at just one attempt? If Not, then in which subjects we should consult coaching institutes?

i think a teacher is required in every field for the guidance.so doin coaching is a better option to prepare for the exams. in CA-FINAL, coachings of accounts, mafa, direct & indirect tax and cost can be done and self study could be done for theory subjects.

For every subject coaching is needed. Coaching from yourself only. You should become your own master and you should only be regular in your studies.....

I think we can become a CA without any coaching
but from my view coaching is necessary because we cannot become an efficient CA through self study..
as our ultimate concept will not be in depth. it is only through that we can make our doubts clear...

SELF STUDY WILL DEFINATELY WORK . JUST FOLLOW THE BEST BOOKS IN EACH SUBJECT.
THESE BOOKS ARE WRITTEN IN THE MANNER AS IF TEACHER IS EXPLAINING TO YOU. YOU JUST HAVE TO THROUGHLY GO THROUGH THEM.
THE BOOKS ARE:
ACCOUNTS: D.S. RAWAT OR MP VIJAYKUMAR
MAFA: S.D. BALA
AUDIT : ICAI MODULE
LAW: MUNISH BHANDARI
COST: SAXENA & VASHISHT
DT: VINOD GUPTA
IDT : BANGAR'S
ICSA : ICAI MODULE

hey frnd,..RGRDING COACHING ONE POINTS TO SAY,..
EVEN IF U ATTEND THE BEST COACHING CLASSES ANYWHERE THE ULTIMATE THING IS THE AMOUNT OF EFORT U PUT WHILE READING OR SOLVING,..
COACHING JST SAVES U SOME TIME IN TERMS OF INTERPRETATION OF THE SUBJECTS AND ANY DOUBTS,...COACHING IS NOT A COMPULSION,...IF U FEEL THAT U CAN MANAGE THEN U CAN DO SELF STUDY,...
I JST ATTENTED COACHING FOR ACCOUNTS IN MY FINAL,..PREPARING ALL OTHER SUB ON MY OWN,.SO JST THINK AND DECIDE WHICH ONE TO JOIN AND WHICH ONE TO SELF STUDY DEPENDING ON UR CAPABILITIES,..
COZ SOME MAY B STRONG IN THEPRY SOME IN PRACTICLAS,...SO IT UPTO U TO RECIPROCATE AND MAKE A WISE DECISION,...
ALL THE BEST FOR UR CARRER,...

Well, its a tricky one.
I think coachings are really important. Although exams can be passed without coachings but one should know what are the probabilities keeping in mind their own strengths. I know that i have not taken coaching for CS final and cleared it with ease and tha too with a rank. But do i know a lot about CS subjects and all. the answer is no because i have not read things in depth at all. So ya its like running on a sword when u decide about going for coaching or not. My personal view is must for CA Final. rest falls on u.
Thanuks & regards

Hi Mohini....
You are getting advices left right center I see:-) So let me put in mine. Surely the books available in the market are fantastic. You surely can do self study. No 2 ways about it....
BUT.....
-->When you sit with a problem in MAFA, you will have to break ur head in solving it. Where as when you go to a class, it will be served to you on a silver platter.
-->Some body has already done all the home work of going through the scanner and given you (in certain subject books) what is important etc etc...
-->when some one in the class asks a doubt you will realise that there are different ways of looking at the a particular topic:-) which trust me on this one, helped me for my final. When a question on accounting standard was asked, i remembered this doubt which was asked in class. That helped me solve the problem.
-->when you see ur co-students studying you will be motivated to study.
I can go on and on but I will stop with one more point..
--> you will enjoy the subjects, have fun and make new friends:-)
All the very best dear...
Goog luck:-)
