NSA has been revoked against Varun and it is not astonishing for me and for people who have faith in Law .But the questions which remain unanswered on Varun episode are many and some of them are as follows.
Can any of state governments or Central government at Delhi be allowed to misuse power and invoke National Security Act against any person like Varun who was simply delivering his speech and campaign for his party? This becomes more important when other person ( Lalu Yaday, Azmi etc )who delivered more poisonous ,devastating and damaging speech but ignored in the same country at the same time under the same constitution. Varun episode reminds us the black day when emergency was imposed by late Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister and in the morning all prominent leader of opposition parties were arrested.
What punishment should be given to such ruler like Mayawati in UP who unnecessarily, illegally and with political motive kept Varun in Jain for 20 days?
Who should be contacted and who is responsible for ensuring punishment to Mayawati who took the unwarranted and illegal decision of invoking NSA against Varun?It is also ironical that those parties who blamed NDA government for misuse of POTA used NSA or who supported invocation of NSA against Varun Gandhi.
Will Supreme Court or any other court punish Mayawati for her ill-motivated action against Varun?
Who will compensate Varun for 20 days torturous treatment meted out to Varun in Jail and for loss he had to incur in campaigning for election?
Whether Congress Party, RJD, BSP and other political parties or individuals who left no stone unturned to retain Varun in Jail (at least till the end of election) for polarizing Muslim votes will accept that they were wrong in their approach. Whether they will like BJP government to book Azmi or Lalu to be booked under NSA? Nitish did not arrest Lalu Yadav (for his threatening of Bulldozing Varun) under NSA because his wisdom and his conscience did not allow him to follow unlawful acts of Mayawati.
Is it not equivalent to killing of democracy and disrespect to dignified Constitution of India which grant freedom of speech
Whether media in general and Aaj Tak like TV channel will accept their guilt for giving undue large coverage to Varun 's so called hot speech even after the fact that Varun openly told that CD produced to Election Commissioner was not that of his speech and that CD was fabricated and manipulated. All courts allow enough time to accused to defend, even to Kasab whose involvement in Mumbai terror attack has been witnessed and photographed by many in the world. I do not want to comment now against Election Commissioner whose action has been questioned by many in the last month.
Now when advisory board headed by retired judge of Apex court has recommended for revocation of NSA against Varun, media should realize that their biased attitude against BJP is not good. Unfortunately today also, on 8th May around 9pm, i.e. after the ruling of revocation passed against Varun ,Aaj Tak channel showed the same fabricated CD to malign the image of Varun and his Political party BJP.
Is it not equivalent to contempt of court?
Last but not the least, whether voter of UP in particular and of India in general vote against Mayawati to compensate the irreparable loss incurred by Varun?
