07 June 2011Can anyone tell whether Tds has to be deducted for Vehicle maintenance?? Every month we pay more than 40k as vehicle maintenance?

treating vehicle maintanance as technical service ...
in my opinion since the payment exceeds the limit specified in 194j TDS has to be deducted....
as per 194j if payer is individual TDS is not required only in respect of proffessional payments , if such individual is not subject to 44 AB in preceding year...
thus for technical servicce payments by induvudual tds is required irrespective of his turnover limit as per 44 AB...
