I am required to get registered in a state from where I am supplying goods and services. So If I am providing online services, my clients are across India, Where am I supposed to get registered ? How will it be decided ?

We need to register at the principal place of business or permanent establishment of the organisation.
For example, An e-commerce company incorporated in Chennai needs to be registered in Chennai either under service tax or VAT (depends on services or sales).
