So, TDS is tax deducted at a source and TCS is tax collected at source. Where in TCS the receiver actually extracts a certain payment from the payer to be made to the govt., TDS is basically just a deduction mechanism where the payer deducts a certain amount to be made in taxes. Hope, it helped

In simple words
TDS:- While making payment for specified transactions, the reciepient at the time of payment to the supplier/seller shall deduct tds from the amount of consideration as per the rates specified.
this simply means tax deducted at source

TCS:- While collecting payment from reciepient for specified transaction the supplier/seller shall collect tcs on the amount of comsideration recieved as per the specified rates.
this simply means tax collected at source
