What is the procedure of Income Tax Refund? how to get Refund of excess Income Tax paid?

file the return by showing the refund, it would be paid by department in due time.

1) Firstly, you will have to file an Income Tax Return as per the Income earned by the Assessee.

2) It is advisable to file the Income Tax Return electronically for faster processing of IT refund.

3) If you donot get the refund within a reasonable time, then you will have to write a Letter to CPC Bangalore regarding delay in reciept of Refund.

4) Also attach the Copy of Income Tax Return (Acknowledgement) and TDS certificate, if any, along with the Letter.

Please also check the income tax refund status, there are chances that they might have sent you the refund but due to some reasons it might not have been delivered.

Your chances of refund are high if your 26AS statement tallies with the amount of tax deducted at source and taxes paid by you .
