Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority was established by the Government of India under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act. Its main role is to encourage the export of Indian agricultural and processed food products.
It also exports various commodities such as vegetables, fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, processed foods, dairy products and honey. APEDA does various promotional and developmental activities to enhance the quality and competitiveness of Indian agricultural and processed food products.
The validity of the APEDA license is 5 years, and it requires renewal.
APEDA license helps in the packaging and marketing of Fruits, meat and poultry products, confectionery, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cereal, papads and pickles and floriculture.
Exporters under APEDA should undergo renewal process to keep going their export activities in international markets. This process is referred to as the APEDA Renewal process.
