what along with CA?

Alright ... i know many of you , after reading this question must have framed it like :: " What along with CA ! "

:P But right now i m a bit confused.....with increased competition, entry of global companies in Placement, i think ke sirf CA se kaam nahi chalega.

Have just appeared for Bcom exams and final attempt is in May 2011. So got full one year before finals. So i m thinking of doing some course from may - december. But what?

I have found wellingkar, mumbai is giving 6 months certificate course in 'Diploma in banking'. Are such courses worthwhile?

Or Should i Attempt to give NCFM exams organised by NSE?

Or any other course?

Please think from perspective of placement !!

I havent thought about any industry which i would prefer....so anything from investment banking to compliance jobs to management consultancy firms would do....so i m on a fresh page..!! this page just has the heading of CA, but what do i write below it?? kindly suggest!!

thanx in advance...

any other course you have in mind, tell me along with necessary info.

Hi Chintan,

You can go for DISA, International Taxation Course, IFRS course.

CPA and CFA are also good options.

Avoid NCFM for now. It is an easy course and you can easily manage this one later.

For IFRS take guidance from Amit Daga Sir as he is an IFRS expert.

All the Best and Regards

DISA , IFRS :: i think can be done from ICAI only if you are  a CA.....

IFRS from NIIT or Piron is way too expensive..!!!

CPA , CFA also not possible from india...

So u see --->> too many constraints, for one objective(knowledge maximisation)...ab yeh LPP ka graph kaise banega!!:P

Chintan, I am in a similar position as urs...

Im planning to start wd NCFM courses, and maybe even CS

As u have gvn ur grad papers, :-

          1) U can get admitted directly into the Exec Prog of CS

          2) Ur registration to match such clause should be after u get the Grad result, so u can enroll                          urself in the 31st Aug slot

          3) U will get an exemption also in one of the papers at Exec level....but the only thing is that u wll have 2 undergo a training of 15 mnths after the Final level of CS

I agree with Ankur Sir that CFA n CPA are good choices 2 go for...examz are conducted in India also... refer : - .https://www.careerage.com/career/counsel/q64174db2692925dd7c70529ec3b108c9.shtml

NCFM courses are nt a big deal for CA students and since no clases have 2 b attended, just a paper needs to be given, I think they are one of the good options available wd us...plz post here if u come to kno abt any other courses....Thanx

Also see :-

problem with CS is i get my TYbcom result in july..... so if i register for 2nd level of CS then, my attempt will come in may 11-->thats wen my ca final comes..!!

Ur Ca final attempt is in May 11 and the CS examz are in June 11

plus, the Costing paper will get exempted coz of B.Com.....

so, uv gotta prepare only for 5 papers,

and if u r still nt comfortable, gv 1 grp in June 11 (the one wd an exemption in costing so that u'll have 2 gv only 2 papers...) and the second in Nov 11....

But yes...this exemption is only valid if u score more than 50 % in Costing paper in B.Com...

U can check wd the CS instt...

i have details of this course--> diploma in banking.

Check this link :: https://www.welingkaronline.org/programs/db_program_details.asp

but wanna know whether such courses or ncfm course does have any weightage in our CV?

which courses are generally preferred by employers (any industry)?
