A probationary officer with the State Bank of India, he rises to become its Deputy General Manager. Posted to USA and having travelled extensively to different parts of the world, he picks an amazing repertoire of knowledge and experience.

The banker at heart, now in the evening of his career, gives it all up t join a non-banking finance company. A few years later, at age 57, he resigns so that he could pursue a ‘Childhood Ambition’. Believe it or not, he decides to do CA; yes, Chartered Accountancy. His friends look at him with askance; their body language tells it all!

Undaunted, he goes through the contours of Article ship, does everything that a wannabe CA would do, toils upwards in the night for exams, battles with mind that are about 40 years younger than his. And in January 2002, days before he turn 60, he becomes a Chartered Accountant!

That`s S.D.BALA, the man who proves that what can be imagined can be achieved, the man who bested the examiners in their own game.
