I think it can not be traced, if we will tell our IMEI number than mobile will be blocked and it will have no use neither to theif or reselling etc

read 7th point....in case it is operated it will b traced....
also as more n more people becum aware....thief will also becum aware of dis fact...n den dey will not steal...or else dey will hv 2 find other technique against it....

I dont think the police wil take a loss of mobile seriously...
As said by people above. they try to block it...
Very rarely u get back your mobile.
And you have to go through a HECK!! of procedures.

Its nice of u to take the pains to share the knowledge dude.....As many pointed out before the thieves are so modern these days and so they must have there own ways of tackling wit this..But this can be very useful when we have lost the set..

i think maninder is saying right
bcoz we can only get block it...
Indian police system is not that keen to trace & arrest the Stolen mobile...they use this teqnique in bigg issues only
