Warehosing concept - Plz help asap

Dear All,

Please tell me regarding warehousing concept in excise.

Our company want to open a warehouse for supply of material a company in india. This purpose of warehouse is to maintain stock qty nearby buyer location . Whether it is possible to open such warehouse. What is the procedure & legal liabilites regarding it.

this is just like depo. you will have to get registration with central excise authority under whose jurisdiction location of warehouse falls. you will remove the goods on payment of duty and in warehouse you will take credit of duty and pay duty when clear the goods

Dear Mr. Vinay, Thanks for reply . The warehouse is to be open at Rudarpur where units are exempt from Excise as well as sales tax. Then what we have to do . Thanks & Regards CA. B.K.BANSAL

Dear bansal, i have recd. ur mail. pl send me through your email. becuase if i will reply from my email on this poertal it will not reached to you. but tell me one thing you are thinking of entral excise exemption in uttrankhand or not. pl note warehousing and other peripheral activity are not getting central excise exemption but you do the following things. 1. take central excise registration form

Can the company on rental basis take a godown for storage of input material as a temporary adjustment ( for 4-5 months ) ?

If yes , From excise angle what precautions shall company need to take?

Dear Mr. Bansal

You can either opt to store goods in bonded warehouse of central excsie situated at rurapur.

you can apply the Commissioner of central excise through Suprintendent (technical) to get registration of warehouse where you want to situate your warehouse

It is not simillar to depot in a warehouse you may store goods without payment of excise and pay duty at the time of removal from w/h
