Want to claim exemption of hra.
for claiming exemption of HRA,what formalities to be followed.is there any document attachments required along with return if yes so what they are?

The below are essential:
1) Salary break-up containing amount of Basic, DA (if any) and HRA in both employment contract / appointment letter and pay-slip;
2) Proof of payment of actual rent i.e. Rent receipt etc.
You need not attach any proof, at the filing of return of income. However, you may need to submit proof of payment rent to your employer yearly once / twice as per the policy of your organisation.
You also have to submit pan of lessor to the employer if the rent paid is more than 1 lac in a year
