In vodafone case it is said that after retrospective amendement vodafone will have to pay tax.

Can Govt. amend law in the way that it will be applied in cases which have already decided by Supreme Court.

I read somewhere once case is decided by Supreme Court even retrospective amendment wont apply to that particular issue.

see akshay.. On a practical side note, yes govt. Can and wil do. B.coz the stakes here r too high. No govt. Will want to lose such. But yes it will be unethical on global side for business. It will effect our country repo. With other enterprices, comp. Or foreign firms. But yes govt. Has power to ammend the supreme court decision buy passing a resolution.
and yes recently i have heard that vodafone is ready to pay the same tax. If govt. Exclude the penalty and intrest on the same. Some where in economic times edition of 22 sep.12
