Very urgent query related to e-tds

Dear All,

I would be grateful if somebody replies to my query. I wanted to know in the RPU Software of the "Form Section" (Form 26Q) if we are filing returns pertaining to Quarter 4 FY 12-13 i.e Jan 31st, 2013 to March 31st 2013, do we have to fill in as Q4 2013 or Q4 2012. I have actually filled as "Q4 2013" and filed with the department about a 10 days back (have recieved an acknowledgement though for Quarter 4 of FY 12-13) but I don't see the statement being processed at TRACES when I login. It says "No data available for the specified search criteria".

I am unable to understand if this is a mistake from my end or the Department normally takes time for processing of E-TDS Returns.

Would be really grateful if someone could solve this query of mine.

Please open the automated generated file created by RPU name BH.html and check the month end

Form No. 26Q

(See sections 193, 194, 194A, 194BB, 194C, 194D, 194EE, 194F, 194G, 194H, 194I, 194J, 194LA and rule 31A)

Quarterly statement of deduction of tax under sub - section ( 3 ) of section 200 of the Income tax Act, 1961 in respect of payments other than Salary for the quarter ended Mar 2013

if highlighted is Mar 2013 then you no need to worry, also check in same file Assessment Year & Financial Year, ..it would be 2013-14 & 2012-13 respectivily.

Hi Deepak.. Yes the .BH file is showing quarter ended March 2013. And also the FY and AY is 2012-13 and 2013-14 respectively.

But does it really take so many days to process? And yes in the future, lets say for example we are doing it for Quarter ended March 2014 it should be filled as Q4 2013 or Q4 2014?

Yes it takes time to update the data at TRACES, yes for Mar 2014 it will be Q4 2014. This confusion arise due to different format of several departments like when filling of DVAT Return for the Qtr ending Mar2013, we need to choose fourth quarter 2012.
