My mother completes 80 years on 15/10/2011(D.O.B.-15/10/1931).Would she be considered as a "VERY SENIOR CITIZEN" for F.Y.2011-12?Kindly clarify.Thanks.

Yes,
Because for 65 yrs or above it says" at any time during the year "is considered as senior citizen
Similarly at any time bet 1.4.2011-31.3.2012if she completes 80 yrs thn she will be considered as VERY senior citizen (i.e for AY 2012-13 ) & will be eligilble for Basic exemption slab of Rs 5,00,000/-
