1. Never respond to any email from unknown sender even if it claims that you’ve won a lottery of US $ 500,000.Simply delete it immediately even from your trash.
2. Never share your email id without any solid reason. Create separate email ids for online shopping, official works and social networking.
3. Don’t ever note down your password especially in digital format. Your computer data can be accessed by virus or malwares.
4. Whenever you forward emails to friends, make use of BCC (Blind Carbon Copy). BCC makes all email ids invisible to all recipients. Don’t let email ids of all your friends display in email itself. This practice can reduce spamming at least by 50%.
5. Don’t click on any link in an email id from unknown sender.
6. If you use your credit card for online shopping, always use a LOW LIMIT CREDIT CARD. A Low Limit Credit Card reduces your chances of any big monetary loss even if it’s hacked.
7. Never ever copy any sensitive data like credit card no, ac no, password etc by pressing CTRL + C or right click option. When you copy any data in your PC, it’s copied in clipboard which is accessible by websites using simple JavaScript.

8. If you are looking for any online work don’t ever pay money to sites asking for registration before giving you work like data entry or MLM (multi level marketing). They are fake. Use your brain, Why you should pay if you want to work for them? Did you ever pay to your employer for working with them?
9. Use reputed portals for online shopping. Always look for HTTPS in address bar when entering your bank account details or credit card details.
10. Don’t blindly accept any friendship requests. Make sure you know the person individually before accepting any friendship requests on orkut, facebook or any other social networking site.
