We have a new client who deals in job work of printing clothes. He has a gross turnover of Rs. 38 lakh in FY 2010-11. I want to know whether he sould get registration with DVAT department????

Job work of printing cloth will come under service tax. In my opinion what is dominant in a printed cloth is the "cloth" and the print is only nto make it attractive.
