My opinion is existing registration is enough for start a new business..... if Same proprietor, same business and also same locality or within the state. You just have to amend the existing registration and apply for Branch Certificate.

There is no provision in KVAT(karnataka) to have two registrationsof an individual. You can apply for amendment for additional unit(business)
