Surgical Items used for Patients in Hospital is applicable for paying VAT or not?Whether Input Credit not taken?

Mr Jayaprasad,
VAT is applicable for surgical equipments used in hospitals. Generally, the hospitals are not registered under VAT Acts and also the surgical items are not for resale. They are not capital goods also. So,no input credit can be availed........MJK
