VAT ON SUPPLIES FOR EOU

Please can anybody tell me as to whether , for an EOU (export oriented unit) which has 100 percent exports, VAT is chargeable for local input supplies by suppliers ? these supplies being made from various indian suppliers ? If yes, from what date ? any idea ?

Can you please expalin me if you are receiveing material from local you ahve to pay the vat from the month of vat implemented

YES FULL VAT WILL BE CHARGED IN THE INVOICE AND RECOVERED FROM EOU CUSTOMERS, SINCE THERE IS NO CONCEPT OF EXEMPTION UNDER VAT. HOWEVER THE EOU UNIT CAN TAKE VAT CREDIT AND CLAIM REFUND IN THE VAT RETURN.

Please anybody can confirm procurement of consumables and packing materials from local suppliers can we take vat credit for 100% Export Oriented Units? If yes from which date?
