I am providing security manpower services to a company. This company is deducting VAT from my bills. I want to know is VAT applicable if only services being provided and we are getting service charge only.

Vat Tds is only applicable if Transfer of Material is involved, if you are doing only service then VAT should not deducted from your bill.

TDS in VAT is applicable only for works contract tax. Since your security service does not tant amount to works contract tax, the Company can deduct TDS and the TDS of Works Contract Tax under VAT. |  |

TDS is ok but over all VAT is appliacble on Security services providing company.
GSTR 9 and 9C for FY 23-24 as amended by Notification 12/2024 dated 10th July 2024(with recording)
