I would like to know whether VAT is applicable on Octroi charges in Mumbai.
My Vendor has charged VAT on octroi also.

Dear sir,
In my opinion, your vendor is right in charging vat on octroi also, as he must have shown the octroi amount in the bill itself. Because, in earlier BST provisions it was chargable to BST if local freight & octroi are charged in the bills.
