tax audit is done when your turnover exceeds 60 lakh .

VAT audit is done when your turnover exceeds 100 lakh and tax audit is done when your turnover exceeds 60 lakh .

Dear Lalitji
VAT audit is applicable as an when Total Purchase or Total sales exceed Rs. 60 lacs than the firm is liable for VAT audit.

Applicability of VAT Audit under MVAT Act, 2002
As per section 61(1) of Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act, 2002, audit is applicable to
- a dealer who is liable to pay tax and his turnover, either of sale or purchases exceeds Rs. 60Lakhs during the Financial Year
- .a dealer who holds a Liquor Licence in Form PLL< BRL, E, Fl or Cl

Dear Members,
AT audit has been introduced in the State of Tamilnadu for the dealers whose turnover is above Rs.one crore. Have they given any format for the report to be given and the last date for filing the report ? Is it applicable from the year 2011-12
