Vat applicabilty on imported goods

VAT is not applicable but customs and countervailing duty will be charged.

On the same forum, someone has claimed that VAT is applicable on imported goods

Can you please clarify.

noted please that vat is applicable on sale of imported goods, But you can claim the benefit of Notification no. 102/2007-customs in this regards,
