I wanted to know if there are any books available on valuation of inventories in software companies.

AS 2 should be sufficient. If you have any sepcific query, please let me know. I would try to help as I know some chartered accountants working in software companies. You can also look for Expert Advisary Committee opinions from the compendium of EAC or try going through the past few year CA journal - EAC column.
