'Rs.' is more convenient than that symbol.
so, better use 'Rs.' unless you are sure that you have a good command over using that.

Hi the Govt has said that
as of now, Rupee Symbol has been designed for the purpose of quoting the exchange rates against other currencies.
On all business documents like bill, voucher, etc, the prefix 'Rs.' is to be used.
'Rs.' to be used for showing commercial transactions and totals...
Rupee notes with new symbol may be printed in 2014 only as per RBI...
So use 'Rs.'
