18 February 2011please help me any one
by mistake instead of filing the return of AY 2009-10
i have efiled the return in AY 2010-11
and also downloaded the excel of AY 2010-11
now wt is the process to rectify
as i cannot revise the return too
please help................

first of all how can u make mistake both times..??
if u have filled up return in AY-2010-11 nd then again u have filed in 2010-11.
rectification u/s 154 cant be possible now since when the Bangalore is processing centre of all e-returns as they willnot accept any mannual application for rectification.

and rectification u/s 154 can not be made without any communication reference number..for that you should have to wait until notice u/s 143(1) come.
but i am damn sure that other details can be changed through it but not the whole assessment year...!!

@ Kunal Actually i want to file AY 2009-10 but unfortunately i have downloaded wrong Xls file Ay 2010-11
and uploaded it at Ay 2010-11 ut nw am confused wt to do for Ay 2010-11 ????

Nothing to do with AY10-11 as you have already filed.
Download software for AY09-10 & E-filed it

hey priyanka,
first you have filed A.Y.2010-11 instead of A.Y.2009-10,
so now you have to download excel utility of A.Y.2009-10 and fill it, keep remember the last date is 31.03.2011 for A.Y.2009-10, so please file return before the said date.If you are filing e-return after that date, ITO may have power to impose penalty of Rs.5000.
and ya you also have made mistake by filling all details of A.Y.2009-10 to A.Y.2010-11 so you also want to revise said return but it can be possible only if you have filed it before 31.07.2010 otherwise you have no option regarding that of A.Y.2010-11.

first thing is download the new ITR form for AY 2009-10 and fill up all the required data in it. Fill the same before the due date of acceptance of the acknowledgemnt to CPC - Bangalore then file the revised return for AY 2010-11....
If u are not able to file a revise return for the AY 2010-11 then wait for the intimation and order U/s. 143(1)/(2)/(3) and u can then file for a request of Modification order U.s 154 since the provisions of 154 require that an intiamation or order needs to be first communicated from the department side to the assessee....
