Dear Krina
He could attempt his IPCC exams no restrictions for the same.
But he will have to serve his remaining training period before apearing in ca final examinations (i.e 2.5yrs out of 3yrs)

Dear Mam....
ICAI don't use special word i.e 1st , 2nd or 3rd year.
This is three years mandate training that's mean (365*3) = 1095 days
Less:- Time for study (6*30)) = 180 days
will have to serve in training 915 days
befor apearing in final examination
I hope u get my point.

Dear frnd
if your friend already got signed the form 109 from their principle and submited to ICAI than he will have to refiled form 102, 103 and 112 with new principle.
If he has taken termination without informing their old principle or informing but without getting signed for 109 or informing principle and getting form no. 109 signed but not submited to icai can rejoin in than same firm.
But 2nd option can be exercise on after mutual concent of both parties (Principle and trainee)
And for further clarification please go through the Chartered Accountants Act 1949.
