Hello dear,
Professional Tax is collected by municipality ans therefore its rate may vary from each city to another and will be different from village to village. So kindly check rate for your corporation.
However, some rule remain uniform across the country.
1. Maximum amount of Professional Tax cannot exceed Rs. 2500 per year.
2. Professional tax is required to be deduced monthly from salary and required to pay by next month within due date.
3. Professionals and businessman are required to pay PT on annual basis.
