Urgent : Problem with the ITR2 excel file from IT dept

Efiling 900 views 3 replies

Friends,

Just noticed this. I downloaded excel file to do e-Filing from Income Tax website.  After I enter 15 digit account number, only 14 are displayed. But the cell itself has all the 15 digits entered. XML file also shows 15 digits. When I print the form, it shows 14 digits in the Bank account number field. Under these circumstances, What you guys suggest? eFile as it is, since xml has 15 digits OR file manually?

Thank You

u can file as it is showing.....dont worry about whether 14 digits or 15 digits are showing at the time of print.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

My concern is the electronic transfer of funds sent to the 14 digit and bank rejecting it. After this, I have to go through lot of pain to change Account number for money transfer.

Does Anyone know, whether Income Tax guys check XML file and physical paper and then process? OR they process based on XML file (uploaded file) and physical copy is for their files.

Thanks Again

Iam facing some problem while filling Short term gains (FY 2009-10) . I got an amoutn of 35356 from shares.

So entered  in the form (CG-OC), at 2a - full value consideration as 35356/-
 and at 5 under 111A , entered 35356/

So while filling the breakup at C- under STGC 111A

The breakup is as follows

upto 15/9 : 34000
16/9  to 15/12 : 5000
16/12  to 15/3 : 2000
16/3  to 31 /03 :  loss of 5644

But the excel is not accepting the negative value... So how can I enter the loss.

Pls help me
