sir,Wrong AY is mentioned in challan. and Dept has issued demand under 143(1)..AO is not etertaining the case.. What Should i Do ?? Do I need to pay tax again ?? As demand under 143(1) is treated as demand u/s 156.

Please file an application to Pay & Accounts Officer at Income tax for Correction of Challan, and wait till the correction of challan( File the copy of the same to AO), else you have the only option to pay challan for the relevant year and take refund in the next year.
