Hi SIddharth,

As per my knowledge in the PAN correction Form, you dont need to change the Ward Number. Let the TIN-FC/Department take care of that. Yoou just have to fill out the new address and your file should automatically shift to the new jurisdiction.  In the Income Tax e-filing website, Click on "Know Jurisdiction:. Please check if it has changed from your earlier Jurisdiction. If yes, then no need to worry. Anyways I heard that according to a decided case law, the Income Tax Authority cannot reject your Return or declare it invalid even if it is filed to the wrong jurisdiction. But just check out under which Ward you fall Under by using following procedure. Go to TIN-NSDL website. Go to fill out a new PAN Form. And in that PAN form, click on "DONT KNOW AO DETAILS". Now choose you city and it should display a whole list of Wards in your area. Know under which ward you fall under.

Hope i was useful

Thanks Viggi!!!

You are aboslutely helpful to me!!!

Some how I have also one doubt about the Ward!!!

At the time of filing of the Income Tax Return which ward no i should mention  i am asking this because some logical problem. My client has changed the address but on our Income Tax E filing site the address has been changed but the jurisdiction has not been changed.

What I should do?

which ward no i should mention in the Return as address is changed but the jurisdiction has not been changed?

Hi!!

Actually Ward is determined by taking into account your location as well as your Income. Please know under which ward No. you actually fall under by going through the TIN-NSDL Website. Then i think you better find out from the CPC call center whether you should file to the Old Ward No. or your new Ward.

Maybe it takes some time for the Ward to be changed in the e-filing website. Please find out from the call center.
