25 April 2011Hi friends, I am PCC Student i have dought on service atx & VAT
please help me
In services Tax : for complusary e filing there was a limit of rs 50lacs previously but i wnat to confirm whether any chnages in this.
In VAT : For vat audit how much limit are there previously there was 40lacs
why i am asking in vat audit becoz for income tax limit of audit has changed its now 60lacs so its applicable to VAT also

In service tax:
''If in any previous year 10 lakhs or more than 10 lakhs service tax is paid den..have to opt for e-filling everytime''

mandatory e filing if gross service tax liability in the preceeding fy is 10 lac or more..........
and abt ur vat audit query...........i hve nerver read that there ws 40 lacs limit........see vat is a state subject so it differs state-to-state...........in case of compulsory vat audit states prescribe some amt,say state of raj has fixed 1 cr to chk tax evasions and all............and in case of departmental audit......cases r selected on scrutiny basis...............so there is no such exact limit as such.............
