I just wanted to know is PT payable by the company also.. I mean PT is collected from the employees and remitted to the government.. My doubt is whether company as a person has to pay PT from its own pocket?

Will be happy if somebody replies. Its kind of urgent.. :) I did some research on the net and came across that it is only from the Employees from whom this is deducted and fremitted to the govt.. Also directors of a co are liable to pay PT. But nowhere did I come across that a company has to pay from its own pocket.. If somebody could confirm on this, it would be great

as per the Maharashtra Profession Tax Act, the companies/employers are requried to pay PT. Please go through the lin given below & refer Schedule 1.
