Updated ITR (Demand)

My friend filed updated ITR, unfortunately he entered tax amount in self assessment tax column only additional tax paid amount mentioned in 140B. After processing amount mentioned in self assessment tax column not considered Outstanding demand raised for that. 
Please help us to how to rectify it.
