Typo error in CA Final FR exam paper effect

There was a typographic error in the valuation question of Nov 2016 FR paper in the valuation question. How will this affect the students during evauation. It has lead many students to get confused and waste time. Are the students expected to correct the mistake also and then proceed with answering ?

Read question 4.a . Point is, on a plain reading, the holding company and subsidiary company exchange shares to ensure profitable basis for the purchase of raw materials from a thrid party. is it correct ?

Yes actully it is missing that subsidiary company MAS Ltd purchases shares in DSS Ltd. It is given that each company will acquire shares in each other but 2 of them are already holding subsidiary companies. The sentence should have been like this "PIR & MASS agrees between themselves to each (means pir and mass both) acquire shares in DSS ltd. The word DSS ltd is not printed. Acquire in which company is not stated. Students may calculated quarter of all 3 companies. But actully only DSS ltd shares are to be purchased by both the companies at their own intrinsic value. That's what I think. It may be wrong. Anyway don't take tension. Even if its a printing mistake ICAI will not award marks, they can say students are free to make any assumptions.

Error is instead of mentioning acquisition of shares btw PIR Ltd and DSS Ltd, question had wrongly mentioned acquisition btw PIR Ltd and MAS Ltd which us wrong...

hope u all r right with pir and dss . however u need to consider that pir has investment in mas so IV of mas is also to be calculated. my q is should it be cum dividend or ex dividend

yes..invest of pir 80000k shares in mas ltd to be calculates at mas ltd market value that ..that was main catch of sum..i knw coz i have done that sum many times
