Fees Covered under the Head "Tuition Fees" can only be claimed. If Exam fees, lab fees, annual fees, computer fees are separately shown in the fees receipt other than Tuition Fees, then only tuition Fess can only be claimed. if there is no bifurcation then consolidated amount can be claimed.

Hi Kapil .............. Act only provides for Tution fees and not for all other fees and every institution normally has practice of segregating all types of fees thus it is only the tution fees which is allowed as deduction U/s 80C
Hope that is clear because govenment is cautious in such case because if all the fees are included then our tution fees normally be very high as education has become costlier so all the assessee having a child going to fees will have maximum advantage as it would be very benefited to the assessee

The Act only provide that:-
tuition fees (excluding any payment towards any development fees or donation or payment of similar nature), whether at the time of admission or thereafter,
(a) to any university, college, school or other educational institution situated within
(b) for the purpose of full-time education of any of the persons specified in sub-section (4);
we can't construed it literly as only TUITION FEES, it also say's (excluding any payment towards any development fees or donation or payment of similar nature), it means tuition fees does not include only tuition fees it include other things also but does not include specifically development fees or donation or payment of similar nature.
so we should reasonably construed it as education expenses..... and the annual,exam,lab charges should be allowed.
