Treatment of dividend

Hi all

Can anybody please help me out in explaining me what treatment to dividend should be given in holding company accounts.

i.e. when dividend is paid then when it is reduced from opening balance of P/L & when out of current years profit.

when the question is silent about payment of dividend we should follow which treatment?

Thanks.

final dividend paid during the year is assumed to be decared out of previous years balances

for interim dividend out of current years profit

but dividend is a tricky problem in CFS there are four metods to be assumed but above is the best out of all assumptions
