are transporter also require to get registered under gst and what is rate of gst if required?

Yes if turnover exceeds Rs.2000000/-.

I am a dealer selling cement. I pay freight charge to truck drivers. they have no gst registration

Transport of goods by road is exempted.

transporter will be take the registration if he carriage goods on behalf of unregistered dealer (service recipient). If he carriage on behalf of registered person (service recipient) only, then his taxable amount will be zero, even his turnover more than 20 lakh, due to gta service comes under RCM.

all answers are wrongs! no itc available in tranaport by road case and rcm applicable also..

Transport upto Rs.750 is also exempt.
