Transition to New Scheme

I am a PE 2 student planning to give the exam in Nov 2006. The CA institute has announced that the new sheme will be introduced from Oct-Nov this year. I plan to continue with the old scheme. I would like to know whether the computer course will be of 250 hours if I choose to continue with the old scheme or the course will be of 100 hours even for those students who wish to continue with the old scheme. Thanks in advance.

hi,
in our institute website transitional provistion for pei peii and final have been hosted......there u can get the information.
I checked out the trasitional provision on the insitute's website but it is silent on the issue of computer course. In the transitional provision, Pe 2 students have been given a choice either to continue with the old scheme or take up articleship under the new scheme. For the students who opt for new scheme, computer course duration will be of 100 hours. It is nowhere mentioned whether the computer course for the students who continue with the old syllabus will remain of 250 hours or will be reduced.
So I need help.
Hi Shweta

If you want to continue with Old Course (PE-II), you need not look into transitional provisions.  Just go a head and obtain eligibility  to write PE-II in NOV-06. You have time upto May 2008 (4attempts). After finishing PE-II look for final new syllabus.
If 250 hours training is pre condition to appear in PE-II, you have to complete 250 hours.
